Dr. Scott Cole

Dr. Scott Cole is an Ophthalmologist that specializes in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as comprehensive ophthalmology. He has extensive experience with the latest techniques in oculoplastic surgery including internal ptosis repair, internal brow lift and endoscopic tearing surgery.
  
Dr. Cole can provide care for a variety of eye diseases including ptosis, dermatochalasis, brow ptosis, ectropion, entropion, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, thyroid eye disease, orbital tumors, fractures of the eye socket, skin cancers around the eyelids and defects after Mohs’ micrographic surgery. He also provides routine eye care for adults.
  
Scott was born in Phenix City, Alabama and raised in Columbus, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science, and Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology. He then received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. After an internship in Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University, he completed a fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. Cole then returned to Augusta, Georgia where he completed his residency in Ophthalmology. After residency, Dr. Cole completed a rigorous two year fellowship in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
  
Scott married his wife, Meagan during fellowship at UNC. Meagan is from Social Circle, Georgia and attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She is a cardiothoracic intensive care unit nurse, and they have three children, Kayley Rae, Aydan and Lawsyn. Being new to the area, they are enjoying getting involved in their local Church, and exploring all of the outdoor opportunities our beautiful area has to offer.
